New Technology is Changing the Way That We Treat Our Health

In this series, we introduce some of the exciting new technology in computer science which makes interesting and new jobs available. In previous articles, we have reviewed three such technologies: virtual reality, 3D mapping, and big data. Virtual Reality (VR) improves the user's experience by creating realistic and immersive digital content. It has become extremely popular and used in a wide variety of situations, from gaming to business to transportation. VR can be used for engineering, art design, virtual tours, entertainment, education, and social science.
The new technology in computer science, artificial intelligence, is creating new opportunities in business and even giving the possibility of a better quality of life. AI is used for a wide variety of tasks in a business like composing search engines, speech recognition, collaborative decision making, computer vision, and data analytics. Data analytics uses large-scale structured data to guide future decisions and activities.
It also can help predict behavior, helping companies take appropriate action in difficult situations. Another advantage is that it can identify trends before they happen. This is done by gathering and comparing large amounts of data. This allows quick identification of anomalies and abnormalities. It also identifies patterns in massive amounts of data, allowing researchers to draw general conclusions from large amounts of facts.
Humans and other animals have developed incredible cognitive abilities over time. Today, researchers are studying how these brains operate. Researchers have already demonstrated the ability to use thought, memory, language, and reasoning. Even more impressive is their ability to understand and remember things that they have not seen, heard, or read.

This is only the beginning of new technology. The next wave of applications will likely be something like RFID tags and readers.
All of these new technologies and applications are ushering in a new era of healthcare. No longer are doctors restricted to certain forms of technology. In fact, many hospitals are integrating all of the technology they have into one cohesive system. Soon, the entire world will have access to a single database for everything from prescription drugs to medical history.
